Family

In my last post I let you see a little part of my family "My True Family".  I'll let you know now that these people are the greatest family in the world.  I have had my brother since we were little kids together.  When we were about 11 yrs old we decided it was time to become true blood brothers.  We cut our hands and did the cerimony to join our souls and have been the greatest ever since.  I got married when I was 20 and lost touch for about 8 yrs but that didn't dampen our relationship 1 bit.  After my wife died I went to see my brother and sister and they stood out on their porch, in the pouring rain, hugging me while I cried.  Within the hour I had a key to their house and an invite to come stay any time.  Now if that aint family, I don't know what is.  Here's a peek into my brother, sister and nephew.

Your intellect is astounding for a lady so young in years
Your beauty lights up rooms dark with despair clouded
You have brought to me a shining beacon in many storms
Imparting wisdom where I lacked smarts enough to know
Hard working and thrifty you save lives as well as money
You came later in my life when troubles ruled my head
But you have made up in love what we lacked in time
Stimulating and empowering you always see the silver
Motherhood has completed you and you perform it so well
You brought me from depths of pain and sorrow myriad

Together my plan is to walk in your light guided by you
You have taught me the meaning of what a sister truely is
Teach me more in days to come of love, life and travels
Your many facets gleem with truth for my constant learning.

Brother Mine

You have always loved me with a love so pure and wonderous
Though at times we ran in stupidity paths of destruction
We have come around to knowledge so greatly won
You have always been there since we met in that church
Helping me to grow to a man with values and wisdom
Fatherhood suits you for you have so much to impart
Marriage has mellowed your wild spirit not diminished
You have had tragedy aplenty but kept strong through it
Winning out in the end to grow stronger and wiser
The gifts you have given me there can be no compare
You have saved my life and soul too many times to count
Your bright demeanor has always shined on gloomy days
Your smile lightens my heart for I know it is honest
There has never been a brother such as you have been
I am the best man I can be because you have been in my life
We have shared wine, women and song and will continue on together forever.
