QotD: Summertime Bests & Worsts

What are some of the best(and worst) things about summer?

Some of the best things about summer are my front porch swing, and the heat.  I love to sweat and summer is the best time for it.  I think sweating can be a great way to cleanse your body.  My mother is always telling me I'm going to hell so I figure summer is a precursor.  I hate cold weather with a pink and purple passion.  Guess living in the midwest might be a mistake, huh?  My Deb and I sit out on our porch swing almost every night in summer just hanging out and talking.  It's a great time to air grievences and get to know a lil more about each other's feelings and such.  A lil warm but it feels good.  The worst parts about summer is the bugs in the midwest.  I hate skeeters but they're all over here.  Lil rottenassed females biting every spot that it's hard to scratch, your elbow for example.  Sandals suck too.  I hate wearing them but I can't wear my boots or I look kind of silly.  I don't wear sox with them because that just looks stupider to me.  But they're always so uncomfortable.  Deb has like 10 pair of the damn things and I can't stand tripping over them all the time.  My kids being home is a mixed blessing.  I miss them when they're gone to school but having them up my butt all the time gets annoying too.  At least they stay up till all hours and I still get my mornings alone.  So that's about it.  I love summer and I hate it but living in the midwest, it's always an adventure.
