How have the ways you use your PC to stay connected with family and friends changed over the years?

Normally I hate these sponsored questions but this is kind of a better one. I have only had a PC since March of 2000. My wife died and I needed company and a friend suggested a PC. It worked out pretty well since this is where I met my new wife. I email my brother and sister and use facebook and myspace to keep up on how they're doing with my nephew. I've found old friends and made a few new ones. This little box has brought me many hours of joy and sorrow but I wouldn't give it up since I live in here since my disability. I used to call my folks on occasion but on here I can get IMs from them and talk for hours. I appreciate my PC a lot.
What household chore do you hate the most? What's your favorite?
I would rather pull my fingernails out with plyers than wash dishes. Vacuuming is kinda fun and laundry is no biggy but dishes suck worse than anything. I used to do my laundry in the shower when I was homeless. It looked kinda silly wearing your clothes in the shower and your sox on your arms but it got them clean. But I've always hated washing dishes. Favorite: I'd have to say vacuuming is fun. I enjoy making a game of it and trying to get all the lines going the same way at the same interval. There's always that one toothpick that you always end up having to bend over and pick up too. You try and try to get that damn thing out of the rug with the vacuum cleaner but it never comes up. It's annoying but also kinda fun.
Did you ever run away from home?
Who had to run away? I got thrown out. I thought about running away when I was younger but I was afraid of the beating I'd get if they caught me and dragged me back. But on the brighter side, being thrown out was the best thing that ever happened to me. It made me grow up real fast and I learned a lot of interesting skills while I was out there. Silver lining and all that.
Would you prefer fame or respect? Why? A certain amout of each goes with the other. I would personally prefer respect tho. I've never been famous but it seems to be a box that you can't get out of. Where can you go that somebody doesn't show you some kind of adulation when you're famous? It really doesn't seem worth it to me. I'd rather be respected and have people confide in or just consider me that ogle me.
What is your favorite memory from your school days?
Submitted by The Cookie Jar.
I had a few good times in school. In the 6th grade, my teacher took me out in the hall and called me a twit because I asked such stupid questions and it got on her nerves. In 7th grade I got picked on by a guy that I'd known my whole life just because we were now in jr. high. In my second year of 7th grade, I went to a dance and got thrown out for fighting with a football player. He got to stay. I was such a freak (burnout) in high school and jr high so I really didn't interact with a lot of people. I did go to my prom tho. I took my girlfriend and we stayed about half an hour. We went across the street to the hotel she worked at and "borrowed" a suite. The next morning, at checkout time, I went to return the key while she cleaned up the room. There was a guy there that offered me his hand after seeing my key. He said" Hi Shane." I wasn't sure who he was or how he knew me till he told me that he was in the suite across the hall and figured that my name was either Shane or God. I guess we got a bit out of control. She was damn loud lol.
